Messages for Aggie's Family

Aunts-Uncles-Great Aunts-Cousins -
I am thinking of you all and praying. I am sorry I was not in town to hug
each and every one of you. I am grieving in GB and will continue to pull up
Grandma's website and keep her in my heart.
Love you - Lynn

Hello Cousins,
Thanks for keeping this site up and running. I love seeing Aunty Aggie's
smiling face every day. I love your update....it's right on target. The only
thing I would add is that not only will she be living on in each of you, a
little bit of ""Ag"" is in all of us who knew and loved her. I for one am
inspired by her spirit and ability to overcome. She was the ""REAL DEAL""
that we all look for in a person. She lived life. I truly feel for you guys
as you continue to grieve the loss of your Mom/Grandma. I continue to pray
for her soul and miss her, too. There will never be anyone like my Aunty
Aggie. Peace.

To My Dear Cousins,
Cheerio from England. Well it has only been 72 hours since we were all
together and I cannot believe My Aunty Aggie is gone.
I look at the website to see her smile every morning. I hope you keep this
website going as it is such a tribute and such a great way to start our
days.
I Love You All,
Ricky Joe

To My Cousins,
This site is bookmarked on our computer and I keep looking at it and smiled
with the picture and update. I still cannot believe she is gone from us.
Auntie Aggie had a great tribute to her life. She is proud and will live on
through all of you. Stay close to God and to each other. Thanks for the
pictures, they make me smile and proud to belong to this family.
Love Always

We are so sorry for your loss. Although she has
been taken from you, the memories cannot. The effect she had on the
people around her will be felt for generations inside and outside of your
family.
Rest in Peace Auntie Ag.

God Bless Ag,
We will all miss her as we all loved her. I will never forget the first
time I met Aunt Ag, she was mom and dad to all the kids and I said to
myself what a strong woman. Susie talked lots of Aunt Ag and loved her
so much.. She will be missed. I might add in my faith we live through
our children, that is to say Ag will always be with us, maybe we wont
see her or touch her, but she will be be here. I love you all. Bobby (Slofco)
I'm going in.

Hi everyone. I just sang to my mom my new song that I will
sing to my kids. We all know ""On The Hillside"". Grandma Aggie sang to me,
I started to sing it when my siblings were born. I continue to sing it to
Claire and Liza. I HAVE to start with that song when I rock Liza, she
insists, and if you know Liza, you understand, you just do it.
My new version will be:
On the hillside, stands a lady, who she is we all do know, a Ma, a Grandma,
and an Auntie, who helped each of us to grow. You are with him Grandma, you
are now in peace, we will never forget you, you can go to sleep.
Of course, we will add on and add on, I WISH my kids went to sleep that
quickly : )
Love to you all,
Lynn

I couldn't have said it better. Ricky is right on.
We are all here for you. We're very blessed to have a strong family. I keep
thinking of all the things that Aunty Aggie said and did over time, and it
brings warmth to my heart. I hope you can do the same. We will see you.

September 25, 2008
My Dear Cousins,
After our visit tonight, words cannot express my love, prayers, and best
wishes for all of you and your families.
Throughout ordeals such as this - the 1st question always is 'why"" -- and
for so many times there is not an answer.
One thing for sure, none of the events of this past few months (seems like
years I know) can take away the beautiful legacy of love and family that
your Mom has given to you and to all of us.
You can never forget that and please know that she is so proud of each and
everyone of you.
Growing up I always felt a bit spoiled (David, Mary Lynn and Michael would
concur...trust me) and special because growing up across the street from
""My Aunty Ag"" was like having 2 Moms. When I was sick or got hurt (which
was often) your Mom would always know how to make me feel better, or get the
splinter out, etc....and she was usually the 1st one I would go to when
these things happened. More importantly, her house always feels like home,
even to this day.
Being with all of you tonight and even laughing a little about Skamper and
old times was very good... and exactly what your Mom expects us to do. By
the way, on the way out I told her that you guys had taken over the waiting
room (she already knew that) and were planning a buffet for the Bears game
this weekend.
Please stay strong and more importantly stay together and let's all continue
to pray.
All My Love,
Ricky Joe

To Ag's Children:
Your Mother has had the American life. Everyone of you was raised with all
of her love and care. She has given you the tools you need to succeed in
life and all of you have the Mihalov's behind you. You have to be strong and
fight just like your mother is at this very moment. We are a family and
everyone is here for you. Pick up the phone, send an email, cry on a
shoulder, drink at Pudlo's, but no matter what, do not give up. Your mother
has not and you cannot either. You are the next generation and we all need
your experience and leadership to guide our family into the future. Our
thoughts and prayers and with all of you.

through this.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone
who fled to your protection, implored your assistance or sought your
intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, we fly to thee O Virgin of virgins, my mother,
to thee do we come, before thee we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother 0f
the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions, but in thy mercy hear and
answer us.
Amen.
Love

My Dear Sister, Aggie,
I am so sorry that you are so sick. You have always been so strong thru all
that life sent your way. You raised 8 beautiful children, basically alone,
and suffered the pain of sickness and death of our beautiful, Richard. Your
pride for your children and their children at this time of your great need
would make your heart burst. They have rallied and are also showing their
bravery taught by you in this your great need. Your heart has always been
generous and full of love, especially for children. Whenever I needed your
help or advice you were there for me. I want you to know how much having you
for my sister has meant to me and I love you very much. Last year you made
the novena to St. Therese without me as I was in MN taking care of Cy and
his broken leg. This year I will be making it without you, but I will pray
twice as hard for you.
God Bless you, Aggie.
My love always,
Cookie

I will be there along with (hopefully) your Chesterton kids! In any case,
know you're being lifted up. I love you, Aunty Aggie. Hang tight
everyone...you're fighting the good fight!

It's hard to find a good holubky recipe!!! I've been
trying to get one for years. I made it one time for Kevin and he didn't like
it. It figures though, he's not Slovak or Polish!
Enjoy your holubky! Take Care!

Aunty Aggie,
Sounds like you had a heck of a week. We have been praying and thinking of
you so that your treatments go well and you regain that Mihalska appetite.
Olivia fell off the monkey bars at the park and broke the left radius bone
in her wrist. As the doctor was getting ready to set it and put her cast on
we told her to brave and she said, ""Like My Aunty Aggie"".
How truthful kids can be.
All Our Love,
Ricky, Caryn, Olivia and Abigail

Auntie Aggie,
What an incredible way to honor you and let you know how much you are loved
by all! From the moment I came into this family I could feel the warm and
generous strength that holds it together. For that and so many other things
I am proud to call it my own.
When your not feeling so strong, lean on some of these wonderful

All our Love,
Ricky, Caryn, Olivia and Abigail
August 22, 2008
Hi Aggie!
I know how difficult it is from personal experience but no matter how
difficult, you have to push. You need to get all of the nourishment to make
you strong. As I told you when we spoke, if you fight hard enough and get
through your treatments the end result will be that you are back to your old
self. Please remember that on your tougher days. You are in my prayers.

Good morning Grandma.
I don't know if mom told you but every night I sing ""on
the hill side"" to Liza before bed (yes I still rock her). If I start with a
different song, she says ""no, on the hill side"". So, every night before
bed I am thinking of you. Goodluck today!
I love you - Lynn

with you earlier as I normally do, but I missed you before bed time.. Hmmmm
so I just wanted to say good night and I LOVE you so much.. Giving you the

you mean to me. I don't think there are words in the dictionary to describe
how much I cherish you. Have a good nights rest, I will call you tomorrow.

Hello Aggie,
Long time no see, but I would have
recognized you from the picture at the top of your website. The pictures
also show that you have a healthy looking family - with nice strong bodies
to help you around the house. BUT, it's up to you to follow doctor's orders
so you can recuperate as quickly, and as completely, as possible.
I'm thinking good thoughts for you,

August 16, 2008
Good Morning Auntie Aggie!!
Sorry I didn't write in yesterday. I was really tired from school and slept
for 12 hours!!
Today's Saint is our Mother Mary. Yesterday was the Feast of her Assumption
into Heaven. A little ""fun fact"" I learned yesterday during spanish class
was when we say the prayers in spanish, we say them informally rather than
formally, because we are addressing Mary as our Mother and as someone we are
close with.
Although my favorite prayer of hers is the 'Hail Mary', this prayer seemed
special too:
Virgin, most holy, Mother of the Word Incarnate, Treasurer of graces, and
Refuge of sinners, I fly top your motherly affection with lively faith, and
I beg of you the grace ever to do the will of God.
Into your most holy hands I commit the keeping of my heart, asking you for
health of soul and body, in the certain hope that you, my most loving
Mother, will hear my prayer.
Into the bosom of your tender mercy, this day, every day of my life, and at
the hour of my death, I commend my soul and body.
To you I entrust all my hopes and consolations, all my trials and miseries,

So Ag, this one time back in Pittsburgh I was
working for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and we were up in
Shenango, which is about 2 hours north of Pittsburgh but closer to
Youngstown Ohio, real big Penn State fans up there and huh ?!?! Anyways were
was I, oh yeah. . .
(Ok, enough of Sid)

With everyone praying for you, I thought you could use a comedy. Who would
of thought all these years I make fun of him (cy) and yet I catch myself now
saying ""back in Pittsburgh"" . . . The point I'm trying to make is that God
works in mysterious ways, combine prayer, faith, and love and you cannot
lose. Keep the faith, we are praying for you and love you always.

Hi Gramma,
I miss you! I will continue to pray that your surgery is a success today.
Over the past month so much has changed drastically for our family, and
within this last month you have handled you illness with such poise and
grace. You told me you weren't worried because you left this up to God, and
at that moment I realized that - I never knew a hero until you, my
grandmother become one. You are my hero!
I love you
very much and Oh I need a favor??? Can you please hurry it up there because
we need to make it to the village before all those dang church goers get
there and steal all the deals! lol :)
Always in
my heart,
Kristen

Gramma Aggie,
People tell me that I'm just like my dad all the time, and
I love that because he's strong and hardworking. Ever since I was
little my dad has told me that he owes everything that he is today to you.
Even now I know you're being stronger and braver than anyone could imagine.
I admire you so much! Please keep fighting. You are in my thoughts and
prayers. Get better soon so you can tell me more stories!
I love you!

Hi Auntie Aggie!!
I'm just about to go to bed, high school was very tiring (but loads of
fun!). So I just wanted to write you a little prayer. This prayer is to
Saint Pauline of the Agonizing Heart of Jesus. I picked this prayer because
Pauline is your middle name.
A little bio: Saint Pauline was born in December 1865. As a young teen, she
helped teach children catechism, visited the sick, and cleaned the church.
Getting older, she took her vows as a sister with her friend, and they began
helping and caring for women suffering from cancer. She passed on, on July
9th after a strong battle of diabetes and was canonized by Pope John Paul
II.
A prayer to her is:
Dear Father,
I ask with all my heart that I be healed, and trust You to be with me
through it all. I trust You to give me peace, to let me live with hope, to
relieve any pain, and to let me know Your presence. I trust You to bring my
loved ones close to me during this illness, that we might support each
other, and that Your great hands might support us all. Help me to win this
battle, Oh Saint Pauline. I pray that from now on, whether sick or well, I
will live each day as if it were eternal, and trust my eternity to You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
I am praying for you everyday Auntie Aggie!!! I love you!! And hope to see
you soon!!
Love, Elizabeth

Hey Auntie Aggie!
I miss you soo much!!! My high school starts tomorrow so I'll be pretty busy
but I found this beautiful prayer to pray to Saint Agnes of Rome!
A little biography on her (just in case you don't know) is: Saint Agnes
was a Christian martyr who died at Rome around 304. She was persecuted at
only the age of twelve for being Christian by the Romans. Her feast day is
January 21st. Her name means pure lamb.
A prayer to her is: Almighty and everlasting God, who choose those whom
the world deems powerless to put the powerful to shame: Grant us so to
cherish the memory of your youthful martyr Agnes, that we may share her pure
and steadfast faith in you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and
reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
I am praying for you everyday!!! I love you!! Hope you feel better!!!
Love, Elizabeth
August 13, 2008
Gma, I
miss being able to call you everyday even with the smallest of problems just
to hear your reassuring voice to comfort me, As long as you said everything
would be fine I knew some way it would be, it had to be because you said so.
I'm praying everyday that you have a speedy recovery, so we can talk and
laugh together again. The kids and I cant wait to come visit you, so hurry
home. We love you so very very much!
Love
